Affiliates of the S.M.A. Lay Missionaries remain at home but live out their missionary calling through close association with the S.M.A. Lay Missionaries. Affiliates share the S.M.A. Lay Missionaries’ spirituality, values and goals. They have a love for the people of Africa and wish to be in solidarity with the African Church.

Affiliates commit themselves to service of Africa and the Church through their collaboration with S.M.A. especially through their witness, prayers, time, interest and resources. Some can give only their prayer and witness, while others can also participate with material support for the work of Lay Missionaries. The mission, and the S.M.A. Members, truly need the support and collaboration of Affiliates.

Affiliates work in consultation with the S.M.A. Lay Missionary Leadership Team, while taking initiative in their own area to spread the news about mission in general and the work of S.M.A. in particular. Where possible, S.M.A. leaders, Members, or Alumni make occasional visits to groups of Affiliates, as well as keeping in contact through other means. Affiliates are invited to develop a relationship of friendship and collaboration with the S.M..A. Lay Missionaries.
